Join Us for National Moving and Handling Day 2025!
Celebrate the incredible work being done across health and social care to promote safe, effective, and person-centred moving and handling practices.
Enhancing outcomes at every level - individual, team, organisation, and system - moving and handling is at the heart of quality care. It’s more than training compliance and preventing injuries; it’s about mobilising, reconditioning, promoting independence, and ensuring dignity and safety for all.
Who should get involved?
Almost everyone uses moving and handling at some point and it can make a huge difference to make sure that is carried out properly. Moving and Handling Awareness Day provides the ideal opportunity to find out more about the safest ways to carry out any moving and handling tasks.
It is also an opportunity for Moving and Handling professionals to share what they know with colleagues and their wider teams as well as find out more from others in the field.
Everyone will learn something useful!
Why should you get involved?
It's a great opportunity to celebrate the role of you and your colleagues in Moving and Handling. Many of us find our services squeezed and being encouraged by a joint celebration is just what we need.
Our roles are made up differently in the varied organisations we support and to hear from others might give you some ideas about new ways of working. Increasing the awareness of how we add value to organisations is good for not only our teams but for those we are engaging with.
Pop in to one or all sessions, join the quiz at lunch or simply pledge how you are taking forward the safer handling agenda locally. It will be fantastic to have you involved - together we are stronger.
What will happen on the day?
There will be activities everyone can get involved with throughout the day with colleagues and friends as well as activities that can be completed at a time that works for you. You don't have to be a member of NBE:
- Did You Know posters can be accessed HERE in advance of the day so you can start discussing them with colleagues and teams.
- Live Webinars from Moving & Handling professionals from a range of backgrounds will be available to register on from two weeks before the day.
- Make a pledge related to Moving & Handling and be entered into our competition to win a year of National Back Exchange membership by:
- Printing THIS document
- Writing your pledge in the speech bubble
- Take a photo of you / your team holding the pledge
- Post photo on Facebook or LinkedIn tagging @nbetoday
- Scan the QR code which will appear here on the day to access the online quiz which will take place at 12:30pm.
