Registration is now open for the third NBE webinar in our 2026 series!
The virtual event will begin on Tuesday 31st March at 2:00pm with a presentation entitled 'Guidance on leaving slings in place during transportation' with Vicky Henderson HCPC, MSc
The webinar is anticipated to run for about 1 hour and will include a Q&A session.
Event Summary
Vicky Henderson will discuss a project which started as a local group discussion, and led to a small working party looking at the rationale, evidence and subsequent guidance for leaving slings in place during transportation
Learning Objectives
- Be aware of the issues created from a blanket policy to remove all slings
- Understand the existing guidance, evidence and opinion
- Sharing of the guidance document created to help address the issues, balancing the needs of clients, carers and PTS staff
- Discuss future plans involving guidance for prescribers of slings
Speaker Bio
Vicky Henderson HCPC, MSc.
Vicky qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2000 and has spent most of her career working for the NHS in community, specialising in patients with neurological conditions.
Vicky has been involved in delivery of Moving and Handling training since 2005 and moved into the specialism of Moving and Handling full time eight years ago. Vicky now works for Care Plus Group, a community social enterprise, as their Moving, Handling and Ergonomics service lead.
Vicky was a session speaker at the 2018 NBE conference, leading a workshop on “standing transfer techniques for people with Parkinsons”. In more recent years Vicky was vice chair for YBE and is currently working towards Advanced NBE membership.
