NBE Webinar Series 2024 - 04: Single Handed Care – a working model – REGISTER NOW
Event Summary
In 2016 the Moving & Handling Ergonomics Team at Kirklees Council embarked on a ‘single handed care project’. Over the years the project evolved to meet the challenges the team faced and today, the term ‘single handed care’ is no longer used. With a focus on optimising moving and handling outcomes, the approach is fully embedded into everyday practice.
This webinar tells the story of the team’s and Council’s journey from project to established practice. Sarah will discuss how and why it started, the challenges, the strategies used to overcome these challenges, and where we are today.
Although the view of the health and care system is through a social care lens, as all services are interlinked, Sarah's experiences and practices translate into other areas, benefiting service users and the wider system.
