Meet the Board: Helen Naylor, Associate of NBE Liaison
Where do you work?
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
What are the day-to-day tasks that you get involved with for NBE?
My NBE role is Associate Member Liaison so I’m a point of contact for and work with all the regional local groups. The aim is to keep them updated with the work of the NBE committee, share the amazing work the local groups are doing, raise any concerns / suggestions to the NBE committee and identify how NBE can support them in the running of their groups. I respond to email enquiries as required and chair the quarterly associate group meetings.
What made you want to get involved with the National Back Exchange initially?
I have been a member of NBE and my nearest associate group – Yorkshire Back Exchange since 1996! The help support and development I have had from this has enhanced my career and personal development and I felt with nearly 30 years of taking it was time to give something back. The role has also changed significantly and ensuring we are recognised for the highly skilled multifunctional professionals we are is important to me. I also love helping and supporting people to learn and develop their potential and this is a great way with so many new people coming into the role.
What do you do in your spare time?
Love to get my hiking boots on and explore the amazing hills and countryside around Yorkshire & Lancashire.
Live music, gigs & festivals.
Real ale!
