Summary of training/course
This course has been around since 1997 and was completely updated in 2024. Designed for people with at least three years hands on experience who wish to become professionally qualified moving and handling instructors. The course includes a wide range of moving and handling techniques as per guide to handling people 7th edition, plus how to conduct and record a formal risk assessment. Most importantly it will equip participants with extremely effective instructional skills. On completion participants will receive the Q.N.U.K Level 3 Moving and Handling trainers award (Health & Social Care) which is on the regulated qualifications framework. Post course they will have access to the full range of training / support materials which includes presentation materials with lesson plans, colour trainee workbooks to either print off or use in digital format and all possible documentation needed including MH audit tools. Uniquely access is given to some twenty five moving and handling film clips for reference or use delivering training.
The trainer Paul Meek (Chartered FCIPD) an active member of the National Back Exchange since 1995. He started his career in the NHS where he was a paramedic tutor. Paul has huge experience in training “people handling trainers” in health, social care, special education and 999 services.
