Medstrom Webinar: Promoting Effective Plus-Size Patient Rehabilitation
NBE Platinum Corporate Partner Medstrom is pleased to announce its latest CPD-accredited webinar and in-person event, focusing on promoting effective plus-size patient rehabilitation. The event, hosted on Wednesday 26th June, is free to attend and takes an academic, clinical and patient perspective into account.
Promoting effective rehabilitation is crucial to supporting patients in their journey from hospital to home, yet for plus-size patients, there can still be unfortunate challenges that arise whether from stigmas, insufficient education, or unsuitable equipment provision.
Seeking expertise and experience from three passionate speakers, they share solutions for supporting early mobilisation, as well as techniques and approaches that focus on person-centred care. This includes a range of thought-provoking presentations and discussions, including sessions from:
- Dr Caz Hales, registered nurse and academic in working in the field of obesity care.
- Tracey Carr, Independent Consultant for offering advice and support to those caring for the plus-size community.
- Emma Tarpey, Senior Manual Handling Advisor working in the NHS and a Chartered Physiotherapist.
Further afternoon learning:
For in-person attendees, further CPD learning is available in the afternoon, with specific hands-on and interactive activities and presentations delivered in the Medstrom Academy. This includes hands-on use of appropriate bariatric equipment in scenario-based workshops, highlighting how they can support with effective, early and safe mobilisation for plus-size patients.
