Website Guide

National Back Exchange » Website Guide

The website has been designed for easy navigation. However, if you are having difficulty finding your way around it, hopefully this simple guide will help.

Home Page
The home page is available to all visitors and provides information on a wide range of subjects. As well as the News section, which takes up the main part of the page, there is a menu on the left hand side. Clicking on any of these subjects will take you to that information. For example, clicking on "Conference 2007" will take you to that webpage and the huge amount of information available. Clicking on "Registered Members" will take you to a page where RM application forms and guidance documents can be found. You can even click on a link that will take you to the list of current Registered Members.

Members Area
For members of National Back Exchange who have registered on the website, you can go to the bottom of the Home page and log onto the members only area, where there is an even greater plethora of information.

To register, click on the "Register for Members Area Access" link below the login box. Once you have entered your details, this will go to the National Back Exchange Administration office where it will join a small queue for acceptance. Once accepted, you will be notified via email and you can then access the Members Area. This may take a few days during busy periods.

If you have already done this, you can simply use the login box to login with your E-Mail address and password. You can now access anything on the site.

So, what's on the Members Area?

Public Announcements
All subjects shown on the home page are also shown in this section.

Member Announcements
These announcements are only shown to members who have logged into the members area.

Announcements and Issues / Problems
This is managed by the Website Manager. Any problems with the site or site specific announcement such as the site going offline for a period of maintenance will be posted here.

Moving and Handling
This is where members can discuss problems and seek answers from other members, regarding moving and handling issues.

Mailbox Memos
Mailbox Memos are sent out from the Admin Office to all groups and are also included on the site for easy access. This enables members to post specific questions for help, advice and support. To enable all members to see the replies to memos, NBE would ask that answers are posted on the website, even if respondents also reply directly to the enquirer. That way, everyone can benefit. Simply click on Add Reply at the bottom of a particular Mailbox Menu.

Mailbox Memos Archive
Because of the huge number of memos, there is an archive for older memos. If you wish to post a memo, it is advisable to check both the mailbox memos and the archive before you send anything to us. The question may already have been asked and the original enquirer may be able to save you a lot of time and worry.

Other Discussion
Every now an again, NBE will post something on the site for consultation with the membership. At the present time, there is a discussion on Health Professions Council Membership. If you wish to contribute to this, click on this section and post your thoughts and comments.

Affiliated Groups
The section on Affiliated Group Information is reliant on Affiliated Groups sending NBE their information. Such information may include contact details, meeting dates, venues and so on. There is a guide for submitting group information at the top of this section. This is a valuable resource for national members wishing to join a local group.

Column Archive
There is then a section that contains all of the back issues of Column, the quarterly journal of National Back Exchange, from 2000 to 2006. Archived issues are added at the end of each year for that year.

The Click and Surf Guide (below) should help you further.
