A1 Back Care & Ergonomic Solutions Ltd is an expanding company providing manual handling training, risk assessment and consultancy work for the NHS and private organisations. Our work primarily covers organisations within the Greater London area and neighbouring counties.

The successful candidate should be able to deliver competent manual handling training for a range of occupational groups. Experience within the acute and community sectors of the NHS is essential. We would also welcome any additional skills the candidate may hold that would be of benefit to the company. These can be discussed at time of interview.

Outline of candidate profile : Qualified Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with experience in health care and manual handling training. The applicant must be a member of the National Back Exchange. Their qualifications must be in line with the National Back Exchange specification for manual handling trainers at foundation level.

Part time permanent position, approximately 12 hours per week

Outline of Job Role : To be responsible for developing and monitoring manual handling issues at St Anthony’s an 80 bedded independent hospital. Reporting to the Physiotherapy Manager you will design, facilitate and evaluate manual handling training programmes for all staff groups and implement an effective recording system.
Clinical staff training is cascaded by a team of link staff who are supported and trained by the manual handling advisor. Induction and non clinical staff training is delivered by the manual handling advisor, who also oversees Manual Handling Risk Assessment. Control measures are monitored using an audit system, which is designed and facilitated by the Manual Handling Advisor. A practical and flexible approach is essential.

Outline of Candidate Profile: Experienced motivated professional. Able to be flexible and to organise their own workload.
Competent and confident to deliver a comprehensive manual handling training, risk assessment and advisory service to all levels of staff.
