National Back Exchange » About Us
National Back Exchange (NBE) is a not-for-profit association, run by an elected National Executive team on a voluntary basis and is administered through a central office in Greens Norton, near Towcester. NBE is increasingly developing links with similar organisations both in the UK and overseas and attracting international members. Affiliated local groups across the UK support members at a local level.
The NBE vision for "the improvement and promotion of musculoskeletal health" is supported with aims to reflect the growing recognition and significance of its work. The association consults widely with other organisations having similar goals, and actively contributes to a number of national working parties. "The Column", the Journal for National Back Exchange, provides a valuable means of communication, and is supported with interactive mailbox memos and discussion topics for members. Annual conferences have been held each September since 1992.
Membership includes professionals from health and social services, community services, private care settings, therapeutic services, educational establishments, health and safety organisations, ergonomists, equipment companies and other interested organisations. The development of a Registered Membership status in 2006 is supported with accreditation of prior learning and experience (APLE). Networking is facilitated by the membership directory, interactive website and local group meetings. Various NBE guidance documents have been produced including Essential Backup, The Inter-Professional Curriculum, and The Inter-Professional Curriculum Framework.
Please note that National Back Exchange is not in a position, at this time, to endorse any products or services.
